The velocity range calculator is one of the free agile tools available from Mountain Goat Software. This agile project management tool uses a team’s historical velocity values to forecast its likely future velocity.
Rather than providing a single value forecast, the tool estimates velocity as a range. A forecast of 18–23 is more likely to be right than than 20.
To forecast a velocity range, enter past velocity values in any order.
Also enter the number of sprints for which you want to forecast velocity. A forecast over a longer number of sprints will be a narrower range as velocity variations have time to average out.
