Onsite Training
In addition to our public courses, we are pleased to offer onsite agile and Scrum training courses for software development and project management. It is our experience that one of the best ways of succeeding with agile is to train an entire team, not just the ScrumMaster, project manager, or technical leads. To make this cost effective, and to minimize the scheduling challenges, hassle and expense of out-of-town travel, all Mountain Goat Software courses are available for onsite delivery.
Onsite Coaching
Participating in a training course is a wonderful way to quickly learn about some aspect of agile software development or project management. But many principles and practices of agile software development are best learned by augmenting that training with some coaching or mentoring. An ideal approach is to combine a class with coaching on the following day. A one-day Agile Estimating and Planning class followed by a day of estimating and planning with your backlog is an excellent approach. Similarly, a one-day Effective User Stories class from Mike Cohn followed by a day of having Mike coach your teams as they write their product backlogs is the best way of getting your backlog in shape. Follow a two-day Certified ScrumMaster or Working On A Scrum Team course by having Mike coach teams through writing enough of their product backlog to get started and plan their first sprints. A Certified Scrum Product Owner course can be followed by coaching focused on writing user stories or perhaps planning a release.
Periodic check-ins are also extremely useful. Scheduling a couple of days of coaching a month or two after a training course is a wonderful way to make sure that the key concepts presented in the agile or Scrum class have found their way into daily usefulness.
